biography

Nancy Lu received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She studied at Skidmore College prior to receiving her BFA from the School of Visual Arts, NYC, and did postgraduate studies with Patrick Betaudier at the Atelier Neo-Medici in France. Solo and group shows in museums, galleries and alternative spaces in the U.S. include ARC Gallery, The C.G. Jung Institute of Chicago, The Anchorage Museum of History and Art, Anchorage, Alaska, The Desert Museum of Art, Palm Springs, California, The Beverly Art Center, Chicago and P.S. 1 of the Institute of Contemporary Art, New York. Exhibitions in Spain include Galería Cartel, El Palacio de los Condes de Gabia and Galería Verlín in Granada, and Las Dálias in Ibiza. Grants and awards include the George and Isabel Brown Scholarship, three CAAP grants from the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and the Lichtenstein Scholarship from the School of Visual Arts, New York. Among her lectures and panels are Columbia College, the Golden Apple Foundation and the CG Jung Institute of Chicago. She is currently part-time professor at the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago, Instructor at the Evanston Art Center, and Artist-Educator for the Shanti Foundation for Peace.
